Fire Cider in the wild - Broadway edition

Posted by Sara Delaney on Mar 22, 2019 9:35:00 AM

Danny Wolohan is a New York based actor who happens to be a super-fan of Fire Cider. His recent run on Broadway as Boo Radley in Aaron Sorkin's production of To Kill a Mockingbird has meant a busy and hectic winter season for the actor in a job where being sick really isn’t an option. We had the chance to talk to him about the stresses of a gig based life in the big city and how Fire Cider fits into that mix

A proud member of the show business community, he loves people who have dedicated their lives to art and entertainment and their stories of carrying on in the face of constant failure and rejection. That sense of instability in an industry where jobs can be short-lived and tenuous means you have to make finding your joy and anxiety relief a real priority.

Living out in Brooklyn with his fiancée and their cat, Kauffman, Danny balances the commute into Manhattan and demands of the job with strolls in Prospect Park and morning Yoga followed by shots of Fire Cider. A good meal at his favorite restaurant Calexico, falling down a rabbit hole looking at kitchen gadgets at Tarzian West, or giving into the undeniable urge to indulge in the occasional cannoli from Regina Bakery help him to keep everything in perspective.

Since a fellow actor introduced him to our tangy tonics about 4 years ago, he takes at least 1 shot every day, either in the morning or right before his show starts. When he’s working in mid-town he’ll grab a bottle at Westerly Natural Market on 54th and 8th ave. If he’s in the West Village, LifeThyme on 8th and 6th Ave.is another great spot to resupply and it’s right across the street from his therapist. #keepingitbalanced

Danny says, “I want to help make the world a more just and peaceful place and I want to make enough money to be able to help the people I love!” We hear that, Danny! And we wholeheartedly agree. If this acting thing doesn’t work out, a little birdie told us that you could always dig up that award you won for writing greeting card captions back in the day and get back in the captions game! #thejingleofliterature

Thanks for sharing your story Danny, and for being such a #fireciderfan. We look forward to cheering you on in your next role!

It’s strange to think that our company started in a little home kitchen less than a decade ago and is now big enough to be making an impact on our local economy. So many things have grown and changed over the last 9 years for us, but one thing that hasn’t changed is our love of good merch!

You may have seen this strange little root at the grocery store or be familiar with the golden yellow powdered version in the spice section, but did you know that it’s far more important than its small role as a flavoring in curry?
